OMS is the abbreviation for Output Management System. The term is used in the SAP environment, among others. There, an OMS is understood as a print server that takes over the management of print data outside the SAP system and notifies the SAP system via push messages about the current status of the print jobs sent from the system. In the SAP system, the so-called coupling type “E” is used as the connection type to the output device for an OMS. Output management systems for SAP systems have to be certified by SAP. The BENS server has such a certificate.
