Suchy MIPS Barcode Verification

Barcode Verification Service

We now offer our customers a barcode test with a certified verifier.
We examine both classical 1D barcodes and 2D barcodes, such as GS1 DataMatrix, QR Code, MaxiCode and various other symbologies.

Quality control according to ISO - Our Service:

  • The bar code test is done in accordance with defined conditions with a certified bar code tester (Verifier) in accordance to relevant standards (ISO / IEC 15415, ISO / IEC 15416, …).
  • The score is a complete audit log with a detailed test result, which, inter alia, includes the achieved barcode quality and further information about the individual test criteria.
  • In addition to the standardized test report you get from us a written analysis, indicating possible causes of errors and quality defects and how a better barcode quality can be achieved.
  • If required, a comprehensive advice.

Test material

Send us by post mail at least 10 prints with barcodes that you want to check. Printouts should come from your production environment, and should be printed with the same printers and on the same paper, as is done elsewhere.

Note: At fluctuating quality print samples should be delivered with different quality, that is, Barcodes with good and poor quality.

Cost of barcode test

This service costs 150, - EUR per process and is free to all customers who have a maintenance contract for the BENS barcode filter or one of our RBarc programs.

Why should a bar code be checked?

In retail chains, goods receiving centers, shipping centers and other business entities that have established an automated flow of goods, deliveries are expected with barcodes with a sufficient quality. If the barcode quality is not sufficient, then the automated goods flow is interrupted because delivery data cannot be read automatically from the barcode, but must be typed manually. This causes delays and costs. This may eventually lead to an exclusion of suppliers directory for supplier whose goods are marked with barcodes of an insufficient quality, at least until he delivers goods which are marked with barcodes in sufficient quality.

The quality of the bar code is standardized and is specified in the rule, depending on the standard, with a letter or number.

Quality classes according to ANSI (old) and ISO:

A = 4,0 – 3,5Very good
B = 3,4 – 2,5Good
C = 2,4 – 1,5Satysfying
D = 1,4 – 0,5Sufficient
F = 0.4 – 0,0Insufficient

Which barcode quality is just accepted by the receipt of goods, mostly depends on the purchaser of the goods themselves. The quality requirements are here usually from 4.0 (A) to 2.5 (B), i.e. it is in many cases only a quality of "Very Good" to „Good“ accepted.
The quality of the bar codes depends on many factors.

Here are just a few examples:

  • Proper size and placement of the bar code on the item
  • Size of the barcode (redundancy in height)
  • Size of the modules (which are the smallest bar code elements)
  • Quality of the print material used (toner, ink …)
  • Used printing media (paper, cardboard …)
  • Utilized printer device
  • Printing parameters (resolution, coloring, contrast, edge transitions; color; …)

Often it is not enough to obtain the test report, because it is restricted to parameter values and the generated barcode quality. Instead, it requires an expertise that we offer.
From the test parameters will be determined how the barcode quality can be improved in a way that your deliverer status will not be questioned.
