Instructions - Test BENS G3 Online
The demo page of BENS G3 simulates working with BENS G3: Instead of PCL barcode control sequences, barcodes in PCL print files will be inserted. The difference to the real BENS G3 is, that the print files processed by BENS G3 Demo are not forwarded to a physical printer but are provided for a download. You can download the files created by BENS G3 Demo and transfer them on to a real printer.
Please use the following procedure:
Create a PCL print file containing barcode control sequences.
-
Start the Internet browser, select www.suchymips.de and then test BENS G3 online
or directly select the following link: test BENS G3 online
Instructions for Use:
How to create a PCL Print File (example from an SAP system).
-
PCL control sequences for certain barcodes are already prefabricated in an SAP system. Therefore, the output of a relevant form suffices. Important: the transfer of the PCL control sequences from SAP only works if you use a device type that is PCL-enabled (you will have no luck with GUI device types like SAPWIN).
Should you have no relevant form, you can print out the standard text „SAPscript-Barcodetest“(transaction SO10). -
In order to redirect the printout to a file, please proceed as follows:
In the R/3, you define a local printer with that HP device type you usually use for printouts on HP or compatible printers. Important: it must not be SAPWin; it has to be an HP or a compatible device type. Connection type is „F“ or „G“ and host printer „__default“ (2 underscores at the beginning) for the standard printer used under Windows. -
On your local computer, please change the connection for the standard printer to „File“ (Start/Settings/Printer). Please mark the printer, press the right mouse button and select „Properties”. Click on the tab „Connections“ and mark the connection type „File“.

-
Print the R/3 document on this printer. Under Windows, a request for entering the file name will be displayed. Enter the path and the file name, e.g. c:\tmp\sapscript-barcodetest.prn.

In order to download the file created by BENS G3 on your local computer, click on Output in the column Operations.

The file can now be sent to a PCL printer that supports no barcodes. As BENS G3 has already inserted the barcodes into the print file, they will appear on the printout all the same.
Here is one of the many possibilities to send the PCL file to the printer (under Windows):
Start the Windows prompt.
-
Enter the following DOS command:
copy/b filename \\rechnername\druckerfreigabenname.
