Origin
The Code 2 of 5 IATA was developed by Datalogic in 1978 and is identical with the Code 2 of 5 5 Bars - apart from the start and stop characters. The 2 of 5 IATA belongs to the code family 2 of 5, which chiefly still consists of the „2 of 5 Interleaved“ and the code „2 of 5 Matrix“.
Further, there are several different variants that have more or less made the market to a certain extent.
